WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the fourth consecutive year, Novant Health has been named as one of America’s Best Employers for Diversity by Forbes. CHARLOTTE, N.C. ― Novant Health today announced an additional location for COVID-19 vaccination appointments in the greater Charlotte market. Opening Monday, April 19, Novant Health Medical Group – Huntersville is located at 17220 Northcross Drive, Suite 110 in Huntersville. This location has the ability to accommodate up to 500 appointments a day, as vaccine supply allows. The new clinic in north Charlotte will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. At this time, vaccinations are by appointment only, and this location will not be able to accommodate walk-ins.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Today, Novant Health and Bubba Wallace announced a partnership between the regional healthcare system and Wallace’s racing team 23XI Racing – co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin – to promote health equity and address vaccine hesitancy. With significant hesitancy rates across communities, particularly among minority populations, Wallace and Novant Health are racing to the finish line to bring an end to the pandemic by encouraging others to get vaccinated. In addition to their partnered vaccination efforts, Novant Health will serve as the Official Health and Wellness Provider of 23XI Racing and its employees.

Community members who need a COVID-19 test can visit Novant Health primary care and pediatric clinics, as well as Novant Health GoHealth Urgent Care clinics.

Charlotte, N.C. – To kick-off Autism Awareness month, Novant Health today announced its Center for Pediatric Development, in partnership with the Discovery Place family of museums, aims to set a new standard for pediatric clinic and care design by offering a holistic experience for visiting patients and families. Patients visiting the new pediatric center will find two Discovery Place exhibits designed to activate sensory processes in the waiting area alongside a host of clinics inside of the center including the ABA Therapy Center.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ― Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center and Novant Health Rowan Medical Center were recently awarded the five-star North Carolina Maternity Center Breastfeeding-Friendly Designation by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The designation is based on the World Health Organization’s Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, which support initiation, exclusivity and continuation of breastfeeding.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.― Novant Health has named Erik Helms as the new senior vice president and chief payor performance officer. In addition to leading the business development and sales team, he will oversee Novant Health’s payor relationships and lead the system’s pricing strategy. Helms will report to John Gizdic, executive vice president and chief business development officer, Novant Health.

Health system provides relief to team members and community during COVID-19 pandemic WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health today announced audited financial results for the year ending December 31, 2020. Novant Health reported net income, also referred to as excess of revenues over expenses, of $382.2 million on operating revenues of $5.68 billion. This compares to a net income of $523.5 million on operating revenues of $5.43 billion in 2019. Operating expenses rose 4.1% in 2020 to $5.49 billion.

Funding will provide equipment, COVID-19 supplies, vaccinations and translation services CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Virginia Wellington Cabot Foundation to fund immunizations, translation services and COVID-19 infection prevention supplies aboard the Novant Health Community Care Cruiser. Community cruiser team members provide health care services to public health priority areas where underserved children and their families live, worship and attend school. The 40-foot mobile unit is equipped with two examination rooms, a laboratory area, health education area and intake desk.  

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health, a not-for-profit health care system serving the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia, is adding two new members to the board of trustees: Brian Eckel and Jason Thompson. Both Eckel and Thompson were members of the Partnership Advisory Group, a 21-member group of hospital board of trustee members, physicians and members of the New Hanover community charged by the county and New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) to determine the future of NHRMC. They will serve as representatives for the Novant Health Coastal Region board of managers and will attend their first meetings in May 2021.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is proud to announce that Angela Yochem, executive vice president and chief transformation and digital officer, has been inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame from IDG’s CIO. She is one of 11 to receive the award this year. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon a select group of outstanding executives and visionaries who have had a significant impact on the IT profession. Yochem will accept her award at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards in August.
