WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Novant Health today announced an online COVID-19 vaccine virtual assistant tool that will allow the community to directly access vaccine resources or ask vaccine-related questions. The tool will utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning to seamlessly provide information about the COVID-19 vaccine.

ICU nurses are first among patient-facing team members to receive vaccine CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following the arrival of multiple ultralow freezers, extensive training of its team members and a successful day of mock distribution and administration, Novant Health inoculated its first front-line health care workers today, using the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is now offering drive-thru flu vaccines at its COVID-19 screening centers located in Winston-Salem at the former Sears Auto Center at 190 Hanes Mall Circle and in Charlotte at the Central Piedmont Community College Harris campus parking deck at 3210 CPCC Harris Campus Drive. COVID-19 screenings will continue to be offered at these locations.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In an effort to overcome vaccine hesitancy, Novant Health is partnering with Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles to encourage all community members to get vaccinated as soon as supply allows. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kim Henderson has been named as an Executive in Residence for Queens University McColl School of Business. Henderson currently serves as system chief of staff to the CEO and senior vice president of executive leadership development at Novant Health. She graduated with her MBA from the McColl School of Business in 2012.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Building on its strategic partnership with SwipeSense, a healthcare technology company on a mission to eliminate harm and waste in healthcare, Novant Health is expanding SwipeSense technology for electronic hand hygiene monitoring, automated contact tracing, and real-time equipment tracking across the health system. The COVID-19 pandemic created more areas of opportunity to use technology to contain the virus. Novant Health’s use of SwipeSense creates an even stronger safety infrastructure within its facilities with real-time tracking of safety behaviors.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center (NHPMC) Foundation was awarded a $43,563.13 grant from Brave Beginnings, a program of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, to purchase a Dräger Babyleo isolette for the Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital (Hemby) neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The isolette provides the newest technology available to increase infant survival rates and ensure prompt delivery of care to NICU infants.
