Novant Health contributes additional $10 million to COVID-19 disaster relief fund

Fund will help team members with rent, groceries, dependent care and other needs WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.― Novant Health has contributed an additional $10 million to the Novant Health Disaster Relief Fund, which was created by the Novant Health Foundation to provide financial assistance to team members who need it most during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this contribution, the fund had already raised more than $1 million from team members, the Novant Health executive team, community leaders and businesses.

Recording artists Doug E. Fresh and Anthony Hamilton partner with Novant Health to share important coronavirus messages

Fresh and Grammy-award winning artist Anthony Hamilton to spread important messaging about how to stay safe and healthy during the coronavirus pandemic. The songs, which are accompanied by videos that have been posted on both artists’ social media platforms, cover the main themes of hand hygiene, social distancing, stay-at-home and face masks. 

Novant Health names Carmen Canales chief human resources officer

Most recently, Canales served as the chief human resources officer at Wake Forest University.

Novant Health hospitals restrict all visitors

The changes are aimed at controlling COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – To protect the health and safety of patients and team members, Novant Health is further limiting visitation in all acute care facilities in North Carolina. As of Monday, March 30, at 6 a.m., laboring mothers may have one visitor accompany them. This is an update to the restrictions put in place Friday, March 20, which included restricting visitation for patients in our hospitals except for laboring mothers and patients who are minors (under age 18). Minors under 18 may have one visitor, parent or guardian. As a reminder, visitors who meet these exceptions must be healthy (no cough, fever or flu-like symptoms) and at least 13 or older unless seeking medical care. Additional exceptions may be granted in special circumstances, such as end-of-life care.

Novant Health reports 2019 audited financial results

Health System provides nearly $152.3 million in financial assistance and more than $993.2 million in total community benefit WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health today announced 2019 audited financial results for the year ending December 31. For 2019, Novant Health reported net income of $523.5 million on operating revenues of $5.43 billion. Operating expenses rose 12.0% in 2019 to $5.28 billion.

Novant Health Foundation launches COVID-19 Response Fund

Novant Health opening additional COVID-19 screening centers

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Novant Health today announced it is opening additional COVID-19 screening centers across its footprint. The screening centers will operate 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All Novant Health GoHealth Urgent Care centers are also screening.

David Tepper Charitable Foundation Donates $1 Million to Atrium Health and Novant Health

Donation will support each health system’s efforts in responding to the coronavirus pandemic Charlotte, N.C. – The David Tepper Charitable Foundation has made a $1 million donation, with Atrium Health Foundation receiving $650,000, and Novant Health Foundation receiving $350,000. This donation will be used across the Carolinas to support efforts surrounding coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). These funds will be distributed by each system’s foundation.
