The awards recognize the hospitals’ commitment and success in ensuring patients receive the most appropriate treatment for stroke and heart failure according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines built on the latest scientific evidence.

Novant Health medical centers in Mecklenburg County receive grants from Susan G. Komen Charlotte for breast health services

Funding will support screening and diagnostic services at Novant Health Presbyterian, Huntersville, Matthews and Mint Hill medical centers CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation has been awarded $239,921 in grants from Susan G. Komen Charlotte (Komen Charlotte). Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center received a $119,972 grant and Novant Health Huntersville, Matthews and Mint Hill Medical Centers received a joint $119,949 award. These grants will be used to fund screening and diagnostic services for under/uninsured and minority populations in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties.

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation receives grant to support Vision To Learn

Grant to provide free eye exams and glasses to Mecklenburg County students who are economically disadvantaged CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation has received a $200,000 grant from The Duke Endowment to support Vision To Learn, a national nonprofit organization that operates mobile vision clinics to provide free screenings, eye exams and glasses to economically disadvantaged students. The foundation serves as fiduciary agent for the grant, which provides $40,000 this year and $160,000 incrementally until 2024 to serve students at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

Novant Health is the first to bring applied artificial intelligence to stroke care in the Carolinas

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health, a nationally recognized leader in stroke care, has partnered with Viz.ai to bring the first U.S. Food & Drug Administration-cleared computer-aided triage system to the Carolinas. Novant Health will be deploying this applied artificial intelligence-based technology throughout the system, which will build on its commitment to provide access to the most advanced stroke care, beginning with Novant Health Presbyterian and Forsyth Medical Centers. Novant Health is the first in the Carolinas to partner with Viz.ai to bring its award-winning software that utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze images for suspected large vessel occlusion (LVO) strokes.

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Foundation receives Susan G. Komen grant for breast health services to those most in need

BOLIVIA, N.C. – Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Foundation has been awarded a $29,900 grant from Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast (Komen NCTC). Komen NCTC funding will support Brunswick Medical Center’s breast screening and diagnostic program for uninsured and individuals in need, an initiative to reduce breast cancer mortality by decreasing late-stage diagnosis. The program also aims to keep these patients within the continuum of care by addressing disparities and increasing access to timely quality care. 

Novant Health Helps People with Cancer Thrive During and After Treatment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Through the generosity of the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation and SherryStrong.org, Novant Health has partnered with the Healing Kitchens Institute to offer patients with a cancer diagnosis free online access to the Cancer Fighting Kitchen Course, a self-guided class that includes a library of short videos about healthy eating through cancer, as well as simple recipes that nourish body and spirit. The program can also be accessed by caregivers, family and friends who may want to offer their loved ones support by cooking nutritious, comforting meals. 

Brandon Neal named senior vice president, deputy chief legal officer for Novant Health

Novant Health boosts North Carolina economy by $9 billion

Healthcare system generates more than 55,000 jobs and over $959 million in tax revenues in the state WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health generated more than $9 billion of economic activity (output) in the state of North Carolina in 2018, according to a recently released economic impact analysis that was commissioned by Novant Health and conducted by FTI Consulting’s Center for Healthcare Economics and Policy.
