Six family physicians and nurse practitioner rejoin Novant from Holston Medical Group      CHARLOTTE, N.C.― Novant Health is pleased to announce six family physicians and a family nurse practitioner who left Novant Health in 2019 to join Holston Medical Group (HMG) are returning August 16, 2020. The providers will continue caring for patients from the same location in Mooresville under the new name Novant Health LKN Family Medicine.      

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  – Today Queens University of Charlotte announced plans to safely bring students and employees back to campus this fall at a reduced density. The plan was developed by Queens’ Re-Opening Task Force in partnership with Novant Health.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ―  While health care continues to advance technologically each year, the United States still faces a physician and nursing shortage in the acute care setting. Novant Health is working to address the national shortage of intensivists and critical care nurses at community hospitals through the launch of a new tele-ICU program. Strategically designed to help mitigate this gap in care, the tele-ICU program will enable remote monitoring and treatment of intensive care patients at community hospitals. This new technology will effectively improve access to critical care services and reduce the transfer rate to tertiary hospitals so patients may receive care closer to home.

Novant Health was the recommended partner by the Partnership Advisory Group (PAG), a 21-member group of hospital board of trustee members, physicians and members of the New Hanover community charged by the county and NHRMC to determine the future of NHRMC. The NHRMC board approved of the recommendation July 8.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Last night, the New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC) board voted to support the July 2 recommendation by the Partnership Advisory Group (PAG) that NHRMC partner with Novant Health.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― On July 2, Novant Health was selected as the recommended partner for New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC). The recommendation comes after nine months of work by the Partnership Advisory Group (PAG), a 21-member group of hospital board of trustee members, physicians and members of the New Hanover community charged by the county and NHRMC to determine the future of NHRMC. A request for proposal was issued by the PAG in January.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Beginning Monday, July 6, hours of operation for Novant Health’s respiratory and screening assessment centers in North Carolina will be 8 a.m. to noon. 

WINSTON-SALEM and CHAPEL HILL, N.C. ― Today, Novant Health, UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine outlined details of the previously announced letter of intent to enhance medical education and clinical services at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (“NHRMC”), in the event the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners ultimately chooses to affiliate or form a joint venture with, or sell to Novant Health.
