Novant Health announces year-end growth numbers in greater Charlotte market

Regional health care system opens 45 clinics and adds 113 physicians in 2019 CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health today announced its physician and clinic growth for 2019 in the greater Charlotte market. Within the past 12 months, the health care system opened 45 clinics and added 113 physicians. The new clinics include 28 startups, three of which were joint ventures with GoHealth, and 17 satellite locations. A total of 77 clinics and 206 physicians were added across the health care system. 

Five Novant Health medical centers named 2019 Top Hospitals by The Leapfrog Group

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On Dec. 17, five Novant Health medical centers were named a 2019 Top Hospital by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit that evaluates the safety and patient experience provided by hospitals across the country. The Top Hospital Award comes following all five medical centers’ “A” Hospital Safety Grade, also from The Leapfrog Group.

Novant Health’s pharmacy team members recognized for service during Hurricane Florence

BOLIVIA, N.C. ― The pharmacy team at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center received the 2019 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) CEO’s Award for Courageous Service in recognition of the heroic efforts and inspiring, unselfish service during Hurricane Florence. Perry Allen, pharmacy manager at Brunswick Medical Center, received the award on behalf of all the hospital’s pharmacy team members.

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center now offers cardiac calcium scoring

BOLIVIA, N.C. – Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center is now offering cardiac calcium scoring for only $99 to help detect heart disease earlier. A cardiac score is a noninvasive, quick and simple CT scan that detects calcium buildup, or plaque, in the arteries and detects the risk for heart disease and a future cardiac event. Cardiac calcium scoring may also be covered by insurance.

Novant Health research presented at American Society of Hematology annual meeting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ― Three Novant Health physicians were featured in eight abstracts at the American Society of Hematology annual meeting, which was held Dec. 7 through 10 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The research focused on chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in adults, as well as hemophilia in children.

Novant Health was one of 16 healthcare organizations out of 16,165 to score a nine out of 10 in both ambulatory and acute care. “HealthCare’s Most Wired” recognizes health care systems for the adoption and strategic application of technology to achieve great outcomes. The “Most Wired” program evaluated the use of technology in multiple areas, including clinical quality and safety, interoperability, population health, patient engagement and analytics and data management.

Novant Health selects KenSci’s AI platform to deliver better in-patient experiences

KenSci will help Novant Health streamline operational efficiencies within the medical centers and improve patients’ overall experiences by effectively informing care teams of patient status when and where it’s most needed. The platform will help Novant Health reduce variations in length of stay and readmissions, as well as dramatically improve patient flow in the emergency department, which will positively impact both inpatient census and patient satisfaction.
