BOLIVIA, N.C. – Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary in the Bolivia facility.
The new Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center opened in 2011, with expanded services for the community, and replaced a smaller, older building in Supply.
“Ten years later, we remain a trusted healthcare provider that is dedicated to remarkable care,” said Laurie Whalin, PharmD, president and chief operating officer of Brunswick Medical Center. “We also continue to look for ways to expand services and specialties to meet our growing community’s needs"
The medical center has 74 beds, four operating rooms, one C-section room, a 24-hour emergency department and a wide range of services, including surgery, imaging, laboratory, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy and pharmacy.
Since 2011, both the average daily census and number of births at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center have grown by over 20%.
“When I think back about all we have accomplished, I am so proud of the care our dedicated teams have provided, and all we have been able to do together to serve our community,” said Shelbourn Stevens, president of New Hanover Regional Medical Center and the Novant Health Coastal market, which includes oversight of Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. “Novant Health’s recent partnership with New Hanover Regional Medical Center will only accelerate our efforts to improve access to care throughout our region,” he said.
Brunswick Medical Center officially joined Novant Health 15 years ago in 2006. Since that time, the health system has made investments to improve access to remarkable care in the community. Here are some highlights:
