Dr. Jeffrey Senfield joins Novant Health Heart and Vascular Institute

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 13, 2017 – Novant Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Senfield, electrophysiologist, to Novant Health Heart and Vascular Institute in Charlotte. Senfield comes to Novant Health from the Medical University of South Carolina, where he completed his fellowship training in electrophysiology.

Senfield is board-certified in both cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia and received his medical degree from State University of New York at Buffalo. Senfield also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in biochemistry from State University of New York at Geneseo and a Master’s of Science from State University of New York at Buffalo.

Senfield is a member of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society, American Heart Association, American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Medical Association. He has spent more than 15 years researching cardiology, most recently at the Medical University of South Carolina and University at Virginia Health System.

Electrophysiologists, or heart rhythm specialists, at Novant Health are cardiologists with three additional years of training. They provide electrophysiology evaluation and treatment, such as implanting pacemakers and performing nonsurgical analysis of the electrical conduction system of the heart. Electrophysiology studies help identify the cause of an irregular heartbeat.
