Haymarket, VA – Sept. 11, 2015 – Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center will host an educational seminar that will focus on common shoulder injuries and preferred treatment options on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. The seminar will be led by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kevin Peltier in the Women’s Conference Room on the second floor of 15225 Heathcote Blvd., Haymarket, Virginia.
“Individuals may begin to experience pain, loss of motion or weakness caused by a rotator cuff tear or arthritis,” Peltier said. “A lot of times this is due to wear and tear that occurs over time or due to an old injury.”
According to Peltier, individuals may notice shoulder pain at night that increases over time and eventually interrupts a person’s sleep or overall loss of motion.
“Women will typically tell us that they are having difficulty blow drying their hair,” Peltier said. “We’ve also heard patients complain that they find it a challenge to raise a gallon of milk in front of them. This is typically when patients will seek a consultation with our office.”
Many different surgical and nonsurgical treatment options are available for individuals with shoulder pain or loss of motion. Peltier will discuss the best options available and how they are designed to address specific shoulder injuries.
Registration for this free educational seminar is encouraged. To register, call 703-530-WELL (9355).
