CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health has opened its first hematology clinic dedicated to caring for patients with blood disorders. Novant Health Hematology is the first location within Novant Health’s footprint to specialize in hematologic blood diseases, both malignant and benign.
Hematological malignancies are cancers that affect the blood and lymph systems, including leukemia and lymphoma. Benign, or non-malignant, hematological disorders are not cancerous, such as anemia and sickle cell disease. All are serious illnesses that require close and careful management.
Board-certified in internal medicine and hematology, Omotayo Fasan, MD, cares for patients at the new clinic Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. He is joined by David Miller, MD, and Jenny Park, ANP. Fasan is the lead physician for Novant Health hematology in the greater Charlotte and Winston-Salem markets.
“We want our patients to know that we are dedicated to being a partner to them through all stages of their journey,” Fasan said. “From the initial appointment to the tests, diagnosis and the treatment, we will listen to them deeply and provide access to the best therapies that will aid them back to health.”
Novant Health Hematology is located at 1718 East 4th Street, Suite 807 in Charlotte. The clinic offers services for adults, including diagnosis and treatments for acute leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myeloproliferative disorders, anemia, bleeding disorders, sickle cell disorder and a host of other blood diseases. The clinic also provides access to traditional treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation and targeted therapies as well as advanced, more specialized services such as immunotherapy, cell therapy and bone marrow transplants.
