Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital will host a free health fair

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Winston-Salem will celebrate its one-year anniversary with a free community health fair Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2475 Hillcrest Center Circle.

The fair will include free blood pressure checks, household safety tips, blood sugar checks, balance screenings, stress management tips and flu prevention tips. Visitors will be able to tour the rehabilitation hospital, enjoy complimentary snacks and receive small giveaways at each health station.

“Our hospital was designed for patients in need of medical management and intensive rehabilitation. We offer the latest technologies to ensure our patients have the strongest outcomes possible,” said Anita Prendergast, CEO of Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital. “We appreciate the support we’ve received in our first year and want to celebrate helping people return to their community and the activities they love.”   

 Visitors at the community health fair can also do the following:

  • Learn the signs of a stroke and how to help yourself or a loved one
  • Learn healthy eating tips
  • Bring medications and review them with a pharmacist to make sure they are being taken properly
  • Watch a respiratory therapist demonstrate proper cleaning techniques for a CPAP machine

Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for patients who have experienced debilitating illnesses and injuries such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, hip fractures and amputations.
