Novant Health launches mobile health units to bring COVID-19 vaccinations directly into vulnerable communities

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Today, Novant Health announced the deployment of its mobile health units to priority ZIP codes across all of its markets in an effort to provide easier access to the COVID-19 vaccine and increase vaccination acceptance. Each week, mobile events will be held at high-traffic locations such as grocery stores and residential areas, including public housing communities and homeless shelters, to provide up to 250 doses of vaccine during each event.

Novant Health opens new COVID-19 vaccination clinic in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ― Novant Health today announced an additional location for COVID-19 vaccination appointments in the greater Charlotte market. Opening Monday, April 19, Novant Health Medical Group – Huntersville is located at 17220 Northcross Drive, Suite 110 in Huntersville. This location has the ability to accommodate up to 500 appointments a day, as vaccine supply allows. The new clinic in north Charlotte will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. At this time, vaccinations are by appointment only, and this location will not be able to accommodate walk-ins.

Bubba Wallace partners with Novant Health to address COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Today, Novant Health and Bubba Wallace announced a partnership between the regional healthcare system and Wallace’s racing team 23XI Racing – co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin – to promote health equity and address vaccine hesitancy. With significant hesitancy rates across communities, particularly among minority populations, Wallace and Novant Health are racing to the finish line to bring an end to the pandemic by encouraging others to get vaccinated. In addition to their partnered vaccination efforts, Novant Health will serve as the Official Health and Wellness Provider of 23XI Racing and its employees.

Novant Health closing COVID-19 screening assessment centers

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Due to decreased demand, Novant Health will close its COVID-19 screening assessment centers in both Charlotte and Winston-Salem on Friday, April 9. Community members who need a COVID-19 test can visit Novant Health primary care and pediatric clinics, as well as Novant Health GoHealth Urgent Care clinics.

Novant Health enhances pediatric clinic experience kicking off Autism Awareness Month

Five Novant Health facilities receive Breastfeeding-Friendly Designation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. ― Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center and Novant Health Rowan Medical Center were recently awarded the five-star North Carolina Maternity Center Breastfeeding-Friendly Designation by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The designation is based on the World Health Organization’s Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, which support initiation, exclusivity and continuation of breastfeeding.

Novant Health reports 2020 audited financial results

Health system provides relief to team members and community during COVID-19 pandemic WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health today announced audited financial results for the year ending December 31, 2020. Novant Health reported net income, also referred to as excess of revenues over expenses, of $382.2 million on operating revenues of $5.68 billion. This compares to a net income of $523.5 million on operating revenues of $5.43 billion in 2019. Operating expenses rose 4.1% in 2020 to $5.49 billion.

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation receives grant from Virginia Wellington Cabot Foundation for community cruiser

Funding will provide equipment, COVID-19 supplies, vaccinations and translation services CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Virginia Wellington Cabot Foundation to fund immunizations, translation services and COVID-19 infection prevention supplies aboard the Novant Health Community Care Cruiser. Community cruiser team members provide health care services to public health priority areas where underserved children and their families live, worship and attend school. The 40-foot mobile unit is equipped with two examination rooms, a laboratory area, health education area and intake desk.
