Novant Health breaks ground at Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center

The $180 million investment will bring acute care resources to the growing suburban population in south Charlotte at a 168,000-square-foot state-of-the-art medical facility. Novant Health opens new COVID-19 vaccination clinic in East Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health today announced a new primary location for COVID-19 vaccination appointments in the Charlotte market. Located in east Charlotte’s Triangle Shopping Center, this 29,000-square-foot space will serve as a permanent site with the ability to accommodate up to 3,000 appointments a day, as supply allows.

Michael Jordan gifts $10 million for additional Novant Health medical clinics

Partnership to improve affordable access to care expands to Jordan’s hometown of Wilmington, N.C. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Today, Novant Health and Michael Jordan announced a $10 million gift to open two medical clinics in New Hanover County on the southeastern coast of North Carolina. The regional health care system and Jordan previously partnered to open two Michael Jordan Family Clinics in Charlotte, N.C., bringing comprehensive primary care, including behavioral health and social support services, to the area’s most vulnerable communities. Jordan’s gift will help Novant Health bring this same integrated care model to more rural and rural-adjacent communities in his hometown, offering much-needed services to those who are uninsured or underinsured. 

Novant Health names John Gizdic executive vice president and chief business development officer

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Novant Health has named John Gizdic as executive vice president and chief business development officer. In this role, Gizdic will oversee the development of Novant Health’s Eastern market and the corporate areas of integration, business development and sales, corporate health, and public safety. He will remain responsible for the coastal region, including New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC).

Novant Health board of trustees adds new members

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health, a not-for-profit health care system serving the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia, added three new members to the board of trustees: Lari Harding, Joia Johnson and John Lewis. Harding will replace Joia Johnson as chair of the Triad Region Board and will serve as an ex-officio, nonvoting member. Lewis will replace Joni Davis as chair of the Southern Piedmont Region Board and will serve as an ex-officio, nonvoting member.

Novant Health to open 6 statewide mass vaccination administration sites delivering 1 million doses by April

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (Jan. 14, 2021) – Novant Health today announced it will open six mass vaccination distribution sites across the state after a commitment by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to increase its COVID-19 vaccine supply allocation. The health care system has requested 95,000 doses a week in order to meet high-demand and ensure equitable and efficient distribution of the vaccine. Locations will be added to include community and corporate partners soon.
