WINSTON SALEM, N.C. (Jan. 14, 2021) – Novant Health today announced it will open six mass vaccination distribution sites across the state after a commitment by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to increase its COVID-19 vaccine supply allocation. The health care system has requested 95,000 doses a week in order to meet high-demand and ensure equitable and efficient distribution of the vaccine. Locations will be added to include community and corporate partners soon.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health today announced that it has started administering the COVID-19 vaccine to its first patients – North Carolina residents ages 75 and older – in keeping with the state’s distribution plan. The healthcare system continues to vaccinate team members within phase 1a of the prioritization framework, which includes heath care workers caring for and working directly with COVID-19 patients. To date, Novant Health has administered over 11,000 vaccines to team members and is administering hundreds more daily.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Novant Health today announced an online COVID-19 vaccine virtual assistant tool that will allow the community to directly access vaccine resources or ask vaccine-related questions. The tool will utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning to seamlessly provide information about the COVID-19 vaccine.

ICU nurses are first among patient-facing team members to receive vaccine CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following the arrival of multiple ultralow freezers, extensive training of its team members and a successful day of mock distribution and administration, Novant Health inoculated its first front-line health care workers today, using the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is now offering drive-thru flu vaccines at its COVID-19 screening centers located in Winston-Salem at the former Sears Auto Center at 190 Hanes Mall Circle and in Charlotte at the Central Piedmont Community College Harris campus parking deck at 3210 CPCC Harris Campus Drive. COVID-19 screenings will continue to be offered at these locations.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In an effort to overcome vaccine hesitancy, Novant Health is partnering with Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles to encourage all community members to get vaccinated as soon as supply allows. The announcement follows recent national polling that shows a large number of citizens will opt out of getting vaccinated, citing concerns ranging from the vaccine being rushed to the vaccine having ulterior motives to its inequitable distribution.

Henderson currently serves as system chief of staff to the CEO and senior vice president of executive leadership development at Novant Health. She graduated with her MBA from the McColl School of Business in 2012.
