WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Yvonne Dixon, director of health equity for Novant Health, was named a Champion of Health by the National Medical Fellowships (NMF). Dixon received the NMF Diversity in Leadership Award at the Champions of Health Awards in Atlanta.

Novant Health will participate in National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 26. Over half of individuals who misuse pain relievers, and the majority of teenagers misusing prescription drugs, get the prescription from a friend or relative. Not only is it unlawful for controlled substance prescriptions to be transferred to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed, but doing so may cause others harm. Community members are encouraged to drop off unused or expired prescription medications at one of the participating Novant Health Pharmacy locations. 

Charlotte, N.C. – Novant Health has named Frank E. Emory Jr. executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Emory has served as executive vice president and chief legal officer since January 2019. In this expanded role, Emory will oversee human resources and diversity, inclusion and health equity in addition to the legal, government relations, risk management, corporate audit and compliance functions.
