CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health has named Paula Bird vice president of behavioral health services. In this role, Bird will be responsible for nursing care provided in Novant Health’s five inpatient psychiatric units, as well as integration efforts for behavioral health within all Novant Health facilities, standardizing behavioral health across the system.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health recently announced it will open a new 24,000-square-foot medical office building in the city of Harrisburg, North Carolina, in late 2019. Located at 4101 Main St., the two-story building will offer family medicine, pediatric and ob-gyn services.  

THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to serve on its board, which provides stewardship and oversight of its operations and activities. New members are Dr. Beatriz Juncadella, business leader Colon Starrett, local pastor Dee Stokes and Dr. Joseph Stringfellow. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health recently received the Innovation Award by athenahealth, Inc. for its leadership development program at the HIMSS19 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida. Novant Health’s leadership development program, which focuses on physician resiliency and burnout, has had a significant impact on physician engagement and alignment since it began in 2013. The program has been completed by more than 800 Novant Health physicians and has been recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.
