Novant Health welcomes new doctor in Waxhaw

Dr. Gin Lou joins Novant Health Waxhaw Family & Sports Medicine   WAXHAW, N.C. – Novant Health Waxhaw Family & Sports Medicine is pleased to welcome Dr. Gin Lou to the clinic. She joins Drs. Derrick Blackwell, Lilian Evans, Howard Guthmann, Robert Malecki and Rosanna Silva in providing family-centered primary care services for patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. She also joins Drs. Eric Warren and Anthony Walker who provide sports medicine and physical therapy services.         

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, fire department host free self-care seminar

Chaplains, community clergy, first responders and other caregivers invited to attend       SALISBURY, N.C. ― Novant Health Rowan Medical Center and the Salisbury Fire Department have partnered to host another free seminar for chaplains, community clergy, first responders and other caregivers. The focus will be on the self-care and wellness of these at-risk groups who are committed to providing crucial support to survivor-victims of traumatic events. A brief overview of the first seminar, held in July, will also be included for new attendees.    

New physician joins Novant Health Cardiology in the Triad

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., – Novant Health Cardiology, which has nine locations around the Triad and southern Virginia, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Un Ju Kim to its team. Kim began on Sept. 1 and is taking new patients. Her addition comes after Novant Health announced last month it is adding three other heart and vascular doctors.

Jill McNeely, a clinical breast health nurse navigator at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, is one of them.      

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center to host free maternity event

SALISBURY, N.C.  ― Expectant parents, new parents and their families are invited to celebrate the growth of their family at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center’s third annual maternity and parenting event, Rock-A-Bye Baby Jam.  This free, festive event will be Thurs., Sept. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the hospital located at 612 Mocksville Avenue in Salisbury. 

Groundbreaking ceremony to be held for HealthSouth and Novant Health's new inpatient rehabilitation hospital

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health and Birmingham-based HealthSouth Corporation will host a community groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate their joint venture hospital, which is expected to open to patients in October 2018. The event will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. at the site of the future hospital located at 2475 Hillcrest Center Circle in Winston-Salem.

Novant Health receives grant to support breast health services in Brunswick County

Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast grant will fund mammograms for uninsured and underinsured  BOLIVIA, N.C. – The Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center Foundation has received a $24,074 community health grant from Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast to provide free mammograms and diagnostic services for uninsured and underinsured women in Brunswick County. 

Novant Health launches outpatient substance abuse program in Matthews

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health Psychiatric Recovery and Counseling, Novant Health’s first substance abuse intensive outpatient program in the Charlotte area, is open to adults ages 18 years and older who are seeking treatment for alcohol and drug abuse. This new outpatient program gives individuals the flexibility to live at home, allowing participation in work, school, and other personal obligations while undergoing drug or alcohol rehabilitation. 

Novant Health offers ‘black and blue’ clinics to address high school sports injuries

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Just in time for the start of a new sports season, Novant Health has opened two “black and blue” clinics dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of sports-related injuries. In Charlotte, the clinic is available Friday evenings from 10 to 11 p.m. inside of Novant Health Urgent Care - Waverly, 11840 Southmore Drive, suite 100. In Cornelius, the clinic will be available Saturday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. at Novant Health Lakeside Family Physicians, 19485 Old Jetton Road, suite 100. 

Three heart and vascular doctors join Novant Health clinics in the Triad
