CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Just in time for the start of a new sports season, Novant Health has opened two “black and blue” clinics dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of sports-related injuries. In Charlotte, the clinic is available Friday evenings from 10 to 11 p.m. inside of Novant Health Urgent Care - Waverly, 11840 Southmore Drive, suite 100. In Cornelius, the clinic will be available Saturday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. at Novant Health Lakeside Family Physicians, 19485 Old Jetton Road, suite 100.

SALISBURY, N.C. – A new electric car charging station has been added to the first level of Novant Health Rowan Medical Center’s parking deck. This is the first electric car charging station at the hospital and is available for use by all patients, visitors and team members.

CLEMMONS, N.C. – On Wednesday, August 2, Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center became a full-service hospital with the completion of its $49 million expansion. With the expansion, Clemmons Medical Center added 36 medical surgical beds, six observation beds and three additional operating rooms. Clemmons Medical Center will now have an increased focus on orthopedic care, including joint replacement, and a new healthcare delivery model that allows shorter hospital stays at lower costs.

SALISBURY, N.C. – Susan G. Komen Charlotte has awarded a $63,419 grant to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Foundation to provide mammography screenings and diagnostic services for underinsured and uninsured individuals in Rowan and surrounding counties.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  ― Carolina Surgical of Charlotte has joined Novant Health Medical Group, the physician division of Novant Health.  The group of five board-certified surgeons provides both general and specialty surgical care and includes Drs. Ilan D. Avin, Wyatt C. Fowler, Carl J. Lowe, Jr., Michael G. Melkonian and Peter S. Turk. The group is also supported by advanced practice clinicians, Jessica Michalak and Lauren Sandberg, and registered dietitian, Victoria Levesque. Its new name will be Novant Health Carolina Surgical.
