Novant Health, Wells Fargo and Susan G. Komen Charlotte partner to support breast health initiatives targeting underserved populations

Charlotte, N.C. Jan. 5, 2016 – Novant Health and Susan G. Komen Charlotte have been awarded a joint $200,000 grant over two years from Wells Fargo to fund breast health initiatives targeting underinsured and uninsured women in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. Novant Health, Wells Fargo and Komen Charlotte are partnering through this grant to improve health literacy and education around the roles of genetics and cancer risk, as well as providing services to underserved populations including patient navigation, genetic counseling, genetic testing and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center offers free weight loss program for 2017

SALISBURY, N.C., Dec. 19, 2016 – Novant Health is partnering with the YMCA of Rowan County to offer a free five-week comprehensive nutrition and weight loss program in 2017. Licensed professionals including registered dietitians, a health coach and a fitness trainer will lead the collaborative effort.

Novant Health names Kim Henderson as new chief of staff

In this new, expanded role she will assist Novant Health President and CEO Carl S. She will also lead special CEO-initiated projects and navigate issues that could impact their successful execution.

Novant Health offers two new radiation oncology technologies to improve the accuracy of treatment

Winston-Salem, N.C., Nov. 16, 2016 – When a patient is diagnosed with cancer, there are several options of treatment that physicians consider. Radiation is an effective treatment, but traditional radiation technology sometimes allows surrounding healthy tissue and organs to receive unneeded radiation in the process. In an effort to more precisely target radiation, three new radiation technologies are being administered at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center’s Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center.

Novant Health raises awareness for men’s health

Novant Health donates over 200 books to Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools

The book – Saved by Addition by Rachel Rogers and Joe Lineberry – is part of the Gift of Numbers series and creates a unique storyline tailored to reinforce the classroom’s math concepts.
