Consultative status for an organization enables it to actively engage with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with the U.N. Secretariat, programs, funds and agencies in a number of ways. This gives Novant Health a platform on the international stage to contribute to work in the areas of women’s and children’s health and wellness and population health, as well as poverty and food security.

10,000 Healthy Hearts Challenge promotes heart health education CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In the U.S., 3 out of 4 adults are living with a heart age older than their actual age.1  To combat these prematurely aging hearts, Novant Health is launching the 10,000 Healthy Hearts Challenge aimed at educating 10,000 people about their heart health by 2018.

SALISBURY, N.C., April 26, 2017 – Novant Health Rowan Medical Center has purchased a NAVIO robotic orthopedic surgical system to help surgeons perform precise and accurate partial and total knee replacement surgeries. NAVIO works in conjunction with the surgeon’s skilled hands to achieve the precise positioning of the knee implant based on each patient’s unique anatomy. This added level of accuracy can help improve the function, feel and potential longevity of the partial knee implant.

Clemmons, N.C., April 24, 2017 – Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center is expanding to better serve the Clemmons community. The expansion will create clinical employment opportunities for registered nurses and certified nursing assistants.

Charlotte, N.C., April 21, 2017 – The first federally funded pediatric Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) has arrived in Charlotte. This means that all children with bleeding disorders will have a new specialty medical home for treatment, education and supportive services in Charlotte. The St. Jude Affiliate Clinic HTC provides access to specialty trained physicians, nurses, physical therapists and social workers who have extensive training in taking care of children with these rare complex disorders.
