Novant Health has expanded its behavioral health services with the recent opening of Novant Health Psychiatry in the Steele Creek community. The new outpatient clinic provides children, adolescents and adults with diagnosis and treatment of mental health concerns, including anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger and chronic irritability, and other mood disorders.
Offering patients individual and group therapy, the clinic is staffed by Dr. Bamidele Ajayi, a psychiatrist who most recently worked at Jacobi Hospital in Bronx, New York. Ajayi completed medical school at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria, and completed his internship and residency at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York. He is board-certified in both adult and child and adolescent psychiatry.
