After serving 20 years as a nurse at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and its cancer center, Sharon Gentry, RN, MSN, AOCN, CBCN, knows how to answer those questions. As the organizer of the Novant Health Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center’s nurse navigation program, one of the first navigation programs in the state, she has consoled dozens of patients and their families.

And yet 3 in 4 Americans (76 percent) say they are prevented in some way from being their healthiest self, according to a new consumer attitudes study about health. They have widespread concerns about being and staying healthy, as well as lack the time, interest and motivation to pursue good health.

Novant Health releases key findings about millennials from inaugural study of consumer health attitudes and behaviors

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., September 21, 2016 – Novant Health today released findings of its first Consumer Attitudes About Health Study noting the latest trends in millennial health attitudes and behavior. The nationwide online survey of 2,104 U.S. adults aged 18 and older, including 419 millennials aged 18-35, was recently conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of Novant Health.

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center to co-host community baby shower

Local families donate CuddleCot to Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center

A CuddleCot is a cooling system for a Moses basket bassinet that allows families who have a stillborn baby or whose baby dies shortly after birth to extend the amount of time they have to spend with their child, if they choose.

Novant Health offers sports injury clinics for high school athletes

Charlotte, N.C. Aug. 19, 2016 – For the fifth year in a row, Novant Health will treat high school sports injuries after-hours at its sports injury clinics now through Nov. 12. The clinics will take place at Novant Health Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine in Matthews on Fridays from 10 to 11 p.m. and at Novant Health Lakeside Family Physicians and Urgent Care (19485 Old Jetton Road, Suite 100, Cornelius, North Carolina) on Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m.
