Charlotte, N.C., June 6, 2016 – At Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, doctors are using brachytherapy, a form of radiation therapy, to treat nonmelanoma skin cancers. Using a device called the Leipzig applicator, it offers a noninvasive approach to treatment by delivering radiation directly to the skin lesion. This alternative to surgery targets cancer cells without pain or damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

Charlotte, N.C., June 3, 2016 – Effective June 1, Novant Health Randolph Pediatrics is changing its name to Novant Health Pediatrics South Ballantyne. This name change only affects the South Ballantyne location and not the Fairview Road location. The clinic is located at 16139 Lancaster Highway, Suite 110, in Charlotte.

The palliative care team is available to assess patients, make recommendations, attend family meetings and coordinate care.

Marshall, VA, May 13, 2016 – Novant Health UVA Health System has opened an express care office in Marshall, Virginia, at the Marshall Shopping Center. Express care locations offer convenient walk-in care, with extended weekday and weekend hours, and treat common illnesses and minor injuries. Novant Health UVA Health System has had a growing presence in Northern Virginia, and this is its second express care location in Virginia.

Bolivia, N.C., May 10, 2016 – At a recent volunteer appreciation event, Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center volunteers presented two $1,250 scholarships to seniors at West Brunswick High School. The scholarships are presented to students who have served as hospital volunteers and want to pursue a degree in a health-related field.
