Charlotte, N.C., May 6 2016 – On Saturday, May 21, Novant Health will offer free, comprehensive sports pre-participation exams to middle and high school student-athletes enrolled in Charlotte and Lake Norman area schools. The screenings are being provided as part of Novant Health’s eighth annual Competitive Edge Sports Screenings Days.

Matthews, N.C., May 6, 2016 – Novant Health Matthews Medical Center’s is opening a new Women’s Center in August. The two-story, 12,700-square-foot addition will be a one-stop shop for the community’s maternity and gynecologic needs.

Haymarket, VA, April 28, 2016 – Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center is now offering alcohol recovery support through Transitional Recovery Services. Alcohol recovery support is a medical detoxification treatment and can be personalized for adults who are diagnosed with alcohol use disorder.

Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Women’s Council of Novant Health Foundation Forsyth Medical Center will announce recipients of $50,000 in grants to programs that focus on women’s health during its annual Garden Party on April 15 at 11 a.m. at Forsyth Country Club. With these new grants, the Women’s Council has provided nearly $475,000 to women’s health programs since 2008.

Charlotte, N.C., March 30, 2016 – Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center and Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center applied for and received full Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). This is the first time Novant Health has submitted a system application for all pertinent hospitals, meaning all or none would be awarded the accreditation grade.

Winston-Salem, N.C., March 29, 2016 – Novant Health today announced the 2015 audited financial results for the not-for-profit health care system. For 2015, the system reported a net income of $191.6 million on operating revenue of $4.1 billion. The system also reported a community benefit of $706.3 million, including $125.3 million of direct charity care.
