Novant Health breast programs in Charlotte metro receive national recognition for their care

Charlotte, NC, Feb. 23, 2016 – Novant Health Cancer Care and Novant Health breast centers at Presbyterian Medical Center, Novant Health Breast Center-Charlotte and Novant Health Breast Center – Ballantyne have earned re-accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). The program administered by the American College of Surgeons is only given to those centers that are committed to providing the highest level of quality breast cancer care. Centers that are chosen undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of their performance.

Novant Health team members pledge more than $1 million to local communities

Winston-Salem, N.C., Feb. 22, 2016 – In 2015, 6,583 Novant Health team members pledged $1,398,759.74 to their local communities through the Novant Health team member giving campaign, Giving. Serving. Together. The campaign lasted from Sept. 21 to Oct. 30. The average per-person donation was $212.48. 

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center opens respite rooms for patient families

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center opened four respite rooms that provide a private space where patient families can nap, shower or have quiet time. These rooms, funded by the physicians through Novant Health Foundation Forsyth Medical Center, will give families the separate space they need while spending countless hours in the hospital with loved ones.

New hyperbaric center and wound care clinic offers healing alternative

SALISBURY, N.C. – The new Novant Health Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center in Salisbury provides advanced care for patients with wounds that won’t heal through innovative therapy techniques. Since late October, the clinic has specialized in treating chronic, difficult-to-heal wounds, including surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, burns and foot ulcers caused by diabetes or poor circulation.

Novant Health pediatrician to be recognized for leadership and teaching

Novant Health opens urgent care location in Bristow

Manassas, Va., Feb. 1 – Novant Health Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine opened Jan. 29 in Bristow, Virginia. Located at 10322 Bristow Center Drive, the facility offers walk-in care Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Since 2009, Novant Health has had a growing presence in Northern Virginia and this is its first urgent care clinic in the area. 

Novant Health physicians receive grant to assist Karenni refugees

Winston-Salem, N.C.– Two local doctors received one of eight American Academy of Pediatrics grants awarded to physicians nationwide as part of its Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) program. The initiative supports pediatricians to collaborate within their community so that all children have access to health services. One of the grants was awarded to Drs. Rachel McClung and Harold Latta of Novant Health Robinhood Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine in Winston-Salem. They received the grant in support of their continuous efforts to enhance healthcare for underserved children in the community.

Novant Health expands cancer offerings
