WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Feb. 21, 2017 – Patients living in remote areas who are concerned about their risk to develop cancer no longer have to drive to a large medical facility to get answers. Novant Health launched genetics video visits this month, thereby expanding access to potentially life-saving preventive care conversations. The technology will enable patients to connect with a genetic counselor using Novant Health’s MyChart application and a device with a webcam. Patients without a webcam living in and around Kernersville, Thomasville, Salisbury, Wilkesboro, Eden and Mount Airy can schedule their video visits at a designated Novant Health Oncology Specialists clinic in their community.  

Winston-Salem, N.C., Feb. 20, 2017 – Novant Health is pleased to welcome Kristin Gordon, PA-C, to Novant Health Primary Care Associates Madison. Gordon, a board-certified physician assistant, joined the clinic in February and is accepting new patients.

Bolivia, North Carolina, Feb. 8, 2017– Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center recently added the da Vinci Si robotic surgical system to its services. While urologic and gynecologic minimally invasive procedures became available with the installation of the medical center’s first da Vinci robot in 2012, this new da Vinci Si system gives patients a minimally invasive option for general surgery procedures as well. 

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 8 – Novant Health Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine on Kings Drive has added a board-certified pediatrician, pediatric advanced practice providers and pediatric friendly nursing and support personnel to its staff. Dr. Amra Zuzo, along with pediatric credentialed nurse practitioners Christina Simpson and Susan Sims, join a qualified staff of board-certified family and emergency medicine doctors at the Kings Drive location.
