Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center expands its cancer treatment options

Huntersville, NC, Jan. 27, 2016 – Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center announces the addition of radiation oncology to its existing suite of cancer services, including medical oncology, outpatient infusion, surgical oncology, cancer rehabilitation, navigation, counseling and clinical trials. Local physicians and friends donate $336,800 to community organizations

Charlotte, NC, Jan. 27, 2016 – On Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m., the Physicians’ Impact Fund presented grants totaling $336,800 to eight local non-profit organizations. The presentation occurred at the Belk House, located on the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center campus. Grant recipients included NC MedAssist, Charlotte Neuroscience Foundation, Safe Alliance, Anuvia Prevention and Recovery Center, The Relatives-NeighborCare, Ada Jenkins Center, Shelter Health Services, and the Lake Norman Community Health Clinic.

Novant Health clinic provides counseling and vaccinations for global travelers

Charlotte, NC, Jan. 25, 2016 – Novant Health Infectious Disease Specialists in Charlotte now provides services for travelers heading to exotic destinations around the world where significant health risks exist. While primary care providers can offer counseling and vaccines to protect their patients for most travel outside the United States, the Infectious Disease Specialists clinic is uniquely prepared to deal with travel to Latin America, South America, Southeast Asia and Africa where typhoid, malaria, yellow fever and other diseases are often found.

Novant Health opens pediatrics clinic in Arboretum area

Novant Health opens new clinics in Albemarle

Novant Health board of trustees adds new members

Winston-Salem, N.C., Dec. 9, 2015 – Novant Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia, has added three new voting board of trustee members: Thomas David Neill, of Bob Neill Inc., Laura A. Schulte, retired Wells Fargo executive, and Deborah McQuitter Ally of United Way Gaston County. Terms begin Jan. 1, 2016 and end Dec. 31, 2018.

Novant Health and Nucleus Medical Media Collaborate on Patient Education Initiative

Novant Health and Nucleus Medical Media have signed a two-year collaborative agreement to study the effectiveness of using medical animation for patient education. In October 2015, Novant Health began integrating medical animations, created by Nucleus, into a new health literacy program. The program will serve patients with heart failure and pneumonia in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. 

Novant Health Cancer Center acquires new radiation technology

November 23, 2015
Manassas, Va., Nov. 23 –Novant Health Cancer Center recently added the TrueBeam STx system, an advanced radiation treatment that performs image-guided stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to tumors in hard-to-reach areas such as the lungs, brain and pancreas.
