THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Novant Health is pleased to welcome Jon Applebaum as president and chief operating officer of Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.
Applebaum has an extensive background in hospital leadership. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of Twin County Regional Healthcare, a 141-bed hospital in Galax, Virginia. Applebaum has also served as CEO and chief operating officer of other community hospitals.
“Jon brings a wealth of experience in operating and growing community-based hospitals,” said Harry Smith, senior vice president of hospital operations, Novant Health. “He is an authentic leader who can engage in the community and he is a great fit to lead the Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center team.”
Applebaum received a bachelor’s degree in science from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and a master’s degree in health administration from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia.
