CHARLOTTE, NC, July 28, 2023 – Novant Health is pleased to announce Becky Bean, senior vice president and chief pharmacy executive, will serve as a national advisor on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Advisory Panel on Hospital Outpatient Payment. She will serve a four-year term, beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2027.
The purpose of the panel is to advise policymakers, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the CMS administrator on the clinical integrity of the Ambulatory Payment Classification groups, as well as the appropriate supervision level for hospital outpatient services.
"As the healthcare landscape continues to shift, there are many opportunities for discussion about outpatient coding and reimbursement," Bean said. "I am honored to serve on this panel to share my perspective as both a pharmacist and a healthcare leader."
