Dr. Smith of Brunswick Urology Partners was selected by his peers to be included in the Best Doctors in America 2013 database. On an annual basis, Boston-based Best Doctors Inc. surveys physicians, asking them to rate their peers by naming the physician to whom they would refer their loved ones or choose for themselves if they needed care in their own specialty area.
Doctors cannot pay to be included on the list or nominate themselves for the list. Only 5 percent of physicians nationwide are selected as Best Doctors. Dr. Smith is featured in the North Carolina's Best Doctor’s List in the December 2012 issue of Business North Carolina Magazine.
Board-certified in urology, Dr. Smith has nearly 20 years of experience in the field. After earning a master's degree in physiology, he went on to attend Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed his urology residency at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass.
At Brunswick Urology Partners, Dr. Smith offers state-of-the-art treatments, including laparoscopic surgery, laser therapy for kidney stones, lithotripsy and vasectomy. He has a special interest in bladder dysfunction, pelvic floor disorders, enlarged prostate and treating urologic cancer.
Dr. Smith is a member of the Novant Medical Group, the physician network affiliated with Brunswick Novant Medical Center and its parent company, Novant Health.
Dr. Smith is accepting new patients at his office at 5145 Sellers Street in Shallotte, which is shared with Oceanside Family Medicine & Convenient Care and Brunswick Pulmonary & Internal Medicine.
