WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Jennifer Harvey to Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Kernersville and North High Point. Harvey joined the clinic in August and is accepting new patients.
Harvey specializes in sports medicine and has experience at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. Before joining Novant Health, she provided sports medicine coverage for the Winston-Salem Dash minor league baseball team and for the University of Delaware.
As part of Novant Health’s recently announced partnership with High Point University (HPU), Harvey will also serve as the medical director for the university’s NCAA athletes. Harvey and Dr. Chris Brumfield, also of Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Kernersville, will work closely with HPU athletic trainers to provide sports medicine coverage for all athletic events.
Harvey earned her bachelor’s degree at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. She went on to complete her medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. From there, she completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Delaware, and a family medicine residency at Wake Forest University. While in college, she also competed on the varsity volleyball team at Virginia Commonwealth University and the women’s soccer team at Virginia Tech.
