Winston-Salem, N.C. – Novant Health opened a new clinic for intensive diabetes management, a one-stop medical care facility for patients with diabetes-related conditions. The new office is located at 1400 Westgate Center Drive Suite 130 in Winston-Salem.
Novant Health Intensive Diabetes Management - Winston-Salem is staffed by Dr. Kellie Faulk, board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism; Sandy Adcock, nurse practitioner board certified in adult health and specializing in diabetes management; and Teressa Adams, RN, BSN, and certified diabetes educator.
The clinic offers team-based care and uses a range of treatment options to intensively manage patients’ diabetes. Providers and staff will focus on helping patients achieve stable glycemic control and proper management of insulin regimens. For patients who use advanced diabetes technologies such as insulin pumps, the clinic will offer continuous glucose monitoring and insulin dose calculators.
Novant Health Intensive Diabetes Management – Winston-Salem is open for new patients, including referrals from other providers. The clinic will provide care for patients with Type 1 diabetes, insulin-treated pregnant patients, and insulin-treated Type 2 diabetes patients with an A1C – that’s the measure of blood glucose – greater than 9 percent. The clinic will feature specialized and expert care in diabetes and insulin management. Patients will have a unique and individualized approach to their diabetes treatment plan that may include medication, diet, exercise, diabetes lifestyle and diabetes-related counseling.
