MINT HILL, N.C. – Novant Health is continuing to grow in Mint Hill with the recent opening of Novant Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine. The clinic is located inside the Mint Hill Medical Office Building, situated near the interchange of Albemarle Road and Interstate 485, at 8110 Healthcare Loop. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is staffed by Dr. Larry Martin Jr.
New to Novant Health, Martin is joining our community with a wealth of knowledge and drive to provide excellent patient care. Before joining Novant Health, Martin practiced as an orthopedic and sports medicine physician and orthopedic surgeon with Carolinas HealthCare System. His interests include all pathologies around the shoulder and knee. He is highly trained in ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery, rotator cuff repair, glenoid labrum surgery, and shoulder and knee arthroplasty.
Martin attended medical school at Meharry Medical College and completed his orthopedic surgery training at Indiana University. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati and Wellington Orthopaedics. While there, he worked with collegiate and professional athletes, serving as one of the team physicians with the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Bengals. Martin has continued his love of orthopedics working as the team physician for all the high schools in Lincoln County, North Carolina.
The Mint Hill Medical Office Building offers primary, women’s health, pediatric, orthopedic and urgent care services all in one convenient location. Novant Health continues to bring comprehensive, state-of-the-art care to the Mint Hill community as it prepares for the opening of Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center, Mint Hill’s own community hospital, in the fall of 2018.
