Novant Health to open new medical office building in southern Brunswick County

Carolina Shores, NC, July 23, 2015 – Novant Health recently announced it will open a new 20,000-square-foot medical plaza in southern Brunswick County in early 2016. Located at the corner of Highway 17 and Persimmon Road in the town of Carolina Shores, the new medical plaza will offer primary care, specialty care and imaging services.

“We are excited to further expand our presence in southern Brunswick County,” said Shelbourn Stevens, president of Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. “One of our goals is to make the healthcare experience simpler and more convenient, and we know this new location will be an asset to local residents.”

The medical plaza will be located at 75 Emerson Bay Road, Calabash, and is scheduled to open in 2016. At that time, Novant Health Internal Medicine Calabash will move to the medical office building where it will have more exam rooms and additional parking to accommodate the growing clinic. Novant Health OB/GYN and Novant Health Surgical Associates will also relocate their Sunset Beach offices to this new medical plaza. Imaging services offered will include X-ray, ultrasound, mobile MRI and mobile mammography.

Vannoy Construction is acting as the contractor for the medical office building, which will be managed by Coastal Medical Properties, LLC. In addition to the Novant Health services in the building, 8,000 square feet will be leased to other medical offices.

The town of Carolina Shores will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new medical office building on July 27 at 10 a.m.
