Novant Health and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital announce new affiliation Charlotte, NC, April 21, 2015 — Today Novant Health and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital announced Charlotte, North Carolina, as the location of the seventh St. Jude affiliate in the country, named the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital.

Board adds one new voting member and two new ex-officio, non-voting members Charlotte, NC, April 17, 2015 – Novant Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia, added one new voting board of trustee member, Robert M. Barr, MD, FACR, and Joseph H. Ely, a retired executive of Aon Hewitt, and William K. New specialty physicians help meet community’s growing needs Salisbury, NC, April 8, 2015 – Novant Health recently welcomed new physicians representing the medical specialties of vascular surgery, infectious diseases and spine surgery to its growing network of local health care providers in Rowan County. Health system reports net income of $201.8 million and community benefit of $639.2 million Winston-Salem, NC, April 1, 2015 - Novant Health today announced the 2014 audited financial results for the not-for-profit healthcare system. For 2014, the system reported a net income of $201.8 million on operating revenue of $3.8 billion. The system also reported a community benefit of $639.2 million, including $135 million of direct charity care.

Charlottesville, Va., and Winston-Salem, N.C., March 11, 2015 - University of Virginia Health System and Novant Health are in discussions to create a Northern Virginia regional health system. Becomes first Charlotte birthing center to receive the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) designation Charlotte, N.C., February 10, 2015 – On January 28, Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center received international recognition as a Baby-Friendly Designated birth facility. One of only seven facilities to be designated in North Carolina, Presbyterian Medical Center is the first hospital in the Charlotte area to receive this recognition.

Specialized training ensures patients receive best survivorship care Charlotte, NC, Jan. 30, 2015 – Several Novant Health Cancer Care facilities have recently been accredited in the Survivorship Training and Rehab (STAR) program through Oncology Rehab Partners. Clinicians at Novant Health Cancer Care facilities in the Charlotte and Winston-Salem areas are now specifically trained to deliver state-of-the-art rehabilitation and survivorship services to patients facing life-limiting side effects caused by cancer or its treatment.

As flu cases decline, visitors of all ages can return to local hospitals. Winston-Salem, N.C., February 4, 2015 – Beginning 8 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, all Novant Health facilities have lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place on January 2. During the height of this flu season, Novant Health asked the community to keep visitors younger than 18 years old out of all its hospital facilities. As a result of the declining number of flu cases seen over the past few weeks, these restrictions have been lifted. The decision has been made in collaboration with other large health systems.
