As flu cases decline, visitors of all ages can return to local hospitals. Winston-Salem, N.C., February 4, 2015 – Beginning 8 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, all Novant Health facilities have lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place on January 2. During the height of this flu season, Novant Health asked the community to keep visitors younger than 18 years old out of all its hospital facilities. As a result of the declining number of flu cases seen over the past few weeks, these restrictions have been lifted. The decision has been made in collaboration with other large health systems.

Charlotte, NC, January 22, 2015 – Four Novant Health facilities have achieved Stage 6 on the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model with HIMSS Analytics. The facilities are Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center and Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital.

Charlotte, NC, January 20, 2015 – On Dec. 10, Matthews Hematology Oncology Associates joined Novant Health, becoming Novant Health Cancer Specialists, which is located next to Novant Health Matthews Medical Center, allowing for an easy transition between visits to the clinic and visits to the medical center.

January 13, 2015—Novant Health Rowan Medical Center’s cancer program has received three-year accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. This accreditation acknowledges Novant Health’s commitment to providing high-quality and safe care for cancer patients that exceeds clinical benchmarks and guidelines.

Winston-Salem, North Carolina, January 9, 2015 – Novant Health announced today a shared services agreement with Mon Health System in Morgantown, West Virginia. Charlotte, NC, Dec. 23, 2014 – Novant Health has named Bert Scott senior vice president of population health. He joins the organization from Affinity Health Plan where he served as the president and CEO.    

Winston-Salem, NC – On January 1, 2015, Novant Health President and CEO Carl Armato will join the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Care Systems Governing Council. The Governing Council provides valuable input on policy issues and advises the AHA on advocacy positions, emerging issues and member service strategies. The council is comprised of 20 leaders representing health care systems across the U.S. Armato will serve on the council for three years.
