Novant Health today announced Novant Health Nourishes, a campaign designed to address food insecurity in partnership with the Novant Health Foundation. Building on a variety of initiatives aimed at tackling food insecurity, Novant Health Nourishes provides community members the opportunity to ensure no neighbor goes hungry by helping to fund Novant Health’s emergency food pack program.

Novant Health increases minimum wage for team members systemwide

Effective March 3, Novant Health will increase its current minimum wage from $15 per hour to $17 per hour. More than 4,400 Novant Health team members systemwide will benefit from the living wage increase. This, combined with team member salary increases for 2023, represents an investment of more than $100 million.  

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center opens neurosciences institute, expands access to advanced stroke, brain and spine care in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Today, Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its 108-bed Novant Health Neurosciences Institute - New Hanover. Conveniently located on the hospital’s 17th Street campus, the Novant Health Neurosciences Institute will allow patients in Wilmington and the surrounding area to receive the latest in comprehensive stroke, brain, spine and neurological care.

Novant Health chief consumer officer honored with Martin Luther King, Jr. leadership award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Jesse Cureton, Novant Health executive vice president and chief consumer officer, was recognized Jan. 16 with a Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Emerging Leader Award by the National Diversity Awards. Cureton is being honored for his work building innovative consumer experiences that prioritize health equity, as well as employee experiences that are national models for diversity, equity and inclusion. 

Novant Health Acute Care and Ambulatory Services Revalidated for HIMSS Stage 7 Status

Novant Health has been recognized with the prestigious Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Stage 7 Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) and Outpatient Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (O-EMRAM) awards for 2022. The health system has been consistently recognized by HIMSS for its adoption and use of the electronic health record since 2013. Stage 7 is the highest an organization can achieve for not only establishing strong digital health capabilities through its electronic health record, but also demonstrating that it can apply the technology in a useful and meaningful way.

Novant Health adds Dr. Christopher "Jay" Duggins to board of trustees

A practicing anesthesiologist with Providence Anesthesiology Associates in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he is also past chair, Duggins has been involved with Novant Health in various capacities for more than 18 years.

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center earns accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Colorectal cancer patients can receive top-quality care at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Conveniently located in the heart of Charlotte, the hospital recently earned a three-year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons. Presbyterian Medical Center is the first in the region and second health care system in the state to obtain this accreditation.
