Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation receives $410,000 grant from The Duke Endowment

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation was awarded a $410,000 grant from The Duke Endowment to implement a well-being and resiliency program focused on front-line nurses who experience high rates of professional burnout. The program builds upon a similar program Novant Health launched in 2013 to address burnout among physicians. More than 800 Novant Health physicians have participated, and the program has hosted over 1,000 physicians from 39 states. For the nursing program, The Duke Endowment grant funding will support six cohorts of 20 nurses each. Novant Health will fund three additional cohorts. Over the three-year grant period, the program will serve 180 front-line nurses. Program leadership will provide guidelines for participation and begin recruiting cohorts later this year.

Novant Health reopens COVID-19 testing location in Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.C. – Novant Health has reopened a COVID-19 testing location in Salisbury. Located at 315 Mocksville Ave., near Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, the testing site will operate Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This testing site is open to all community members - you do not have to be a Novant Health patient to get tested. Appointments are not required.

Novant Health partners with Kernersville Parks and Recreation to open a new outdoor fitness court

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. - Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center recently partnered with Kernersville Parks and Recreation to install a new community health and wellness fitness court by the water tower at Civitan Park, 309 Nelson Street in Kernersville. The new outdoor exercise space is designed to help improve access to free health and fitness equipment within the community.

Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation receives PNC Foundation grant to support Upward Mobility RN Scholarship Program

Grant to provide financial support for qualified Novant Health team members aspiring to become registered nurses CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center (NHPMC) Foundation has received a $96,000 grant, payable over two years, from the PNC Foundation to support the Upward Mobility RN scholarship program for Novant Health team members who aspire to become registered nurses (RNs) and are experiencing financial hardship. The grant, which is championed by PNC Community Development Banking, will support up to five RNs in the greater Charlotte and greater Winston-Salem markets over a two-year period.

Novant Health reopens COVID-19 testing location at Hanes Mall

WINSTON-SALEM - Due to increased demand, Novant Health Medical Group will reopen its COVID-19 drive-through testing location at 190 Hanes Mall Circle, Winston-Salem, on Monday, Aug. 30. Located in the former Sears Auto Center, the testing site will operate Monday – Friday, from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. No appointments are required. Patients will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and the line may close prior to 3 p.m. to accommodate the closing time. 

Novant Health reopens COVID-19 testing location in East Mecklenburg

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Due to increased demand, Novant Health Medical Group will reopen its COVID-19 testing location in East Mecklenburg on Monday, August 30. Located at 6070 East Independence Blvd, Charlotte, the testing site will operate Monday – Friday, from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. Appointments are required and walk-ins will not be accepted. Rapid tests are not available at this location.  

Novant Health hospitals update visitor restrictions

WINSTON-SALEM – As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in our communities, Novant Health is adjusting its visitor restrictions to help protect the health and safety of our patients and team members. As of Tuesday, Aug. 24, all patients except those with COVID-19 or who are patients under investigation for COVID-19, may have one overnight visitor. All hospital visitors must be 12 or older*, healthy, pass COVID-19 screening questions and wear a mask while on-site.

In response to increasing COVID-19 cases, Novant Health reminds community of resources available to them

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – In the last six weeks, Novant Health has seen a nearly 1,600% increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations. Today, more than 91% of COVID-19 patients in our hospitals are not vaccinated, and the average age of admitted patients is the lowest it has been since the pandemic started. In addition to the surging cases of COVID-19, our emergency departments are seeing higher than usual summer volumes of patients seeking care for other health concerns. In response, Novant Health is reminding the community of COVID-19 resources available to them.

Thomasville golf tournament to raise money for new wellness and education center

THOMASVILLE, N.C. – On Friday, Oct. 1, the Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation will host the fifth annual Jane Burt Williams Memorial Golf Classic at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville. All proceeds will go toward the construction of a new Wellness and Education Center on Thomasville Medical Center’s campus.
