CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health will resume some non-time sensitive and non-emergent surgeries and procedures beginning Monday, May 4. Additionally, clinics will reinstate appointments that were previously delayed by phasing in visits starting with pediatric well checks, chronic disease and acute issue visits. These appointments paused March 18 in response to increasing cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading in our communities and the need to protect our patients and team members.

Grant to support construction on Wallace Cancer Institute slated to open August 2020 SALISBURY, N.C. – Novant Health Rowan Medical Center (NHRMC) Foundation has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Philip L. Van Every Foundation. Funding will support the new Wallace Cancer Institute opening in Salisbury in August 2020. The institute will serve patients with research-based health solutions delivered through multiple medical disciplines, nurse navigation, state-of-the-art equipment and clinical trials in a single location.

Expands testing to West and East Charlotte with mobile units & respiratory assessment center CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Beginning April 15, the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic will transition temporarily into a COVID-19 respiratory assessment center and two mobile health units will begin offering COVID-19 screenings in East and West Charlotte. Together, these services will provide COVID-19 education, assessment and testing to Charlotte’s most at-risk communities.   

Fund will help team members with rent, groceries, dependent care and other needs WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.― Novant Health has contributed an additional $10 million to the Novant Health Disaster Relief Fund, which was created by the Novant Health Foundation to provide financial assistance to team members who need it most during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to this contribution, the fund had already raised more than $1 million from team members, the Novant Health executive team, community leaders and businesses.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ― Novant Health has announced its collaboration with beatboxing legend Doug E. Fresh and Grammy-award winning artist Anthony Hamilton to spread important messaging about how to stay safe and healthy during the coronavirus pandemic. The songs, which are accompanied by videos that have been posted on both artists’ social media platforms, cover the main themes of hand hygiene, social distancing, stay-at-home and face masks.

New senior vice president will start April 20, 2020 WINSTON-SALEM, NC — Today, Novant Health announced Carmen Canales will join the organization as the new senior vice president and chief human resources officer effective April 20. Most recently, Canales served as the chief human resources officer at Wake Forest University.

The changes are aimed at controlling COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – To protect the health and safety of patients and team members, Novant Health is further limiting visitation in all acute care facilities in North Carolina. As of Monday, March 30, at 6 a.m., laboring mothers may have one visitor accompany them. This is an update to the restrictions put in place Friday, March 20, which included restricting visitation for patients in our hospitals except for laboring mothers and patients who are minors (under age 18). Minors under 18 may have one visitor, parent or guardian. As a reminder, visitors who meet these exceptions must be healthy (no cough, fever or flu-like symptoms) and at least 13 or older unless seeking medical care. Additional exceptions may be granted in special circumstances, such as end-of-life care.
