CHARLOTTE, N.C.   Novant Health is piloting a new, online feature that allows patients to access their health information on a tablet while in the hospital. MyChart Bedside is an app that allows patients and their families to interact with their medical record and care plan during a hospital stay. The pilot is being used at three medical centers: Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center and Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital.

“King of the Court” volleyball fundraiser donates over $6,000 to hospital foundation   SALISBURY, N.C. ― Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Foundation partnered with Rowan-Salisbury area high schools to host the third annual King of the Court, a junior and senior all-male volleyball fundraiser. Together, the six area high schools raised $6,000. All proceeds will be donated to the Rowan Medical Center Foundation in support of its breast health fund which covers the cost of mammograms, diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds for women who are uninsured or underinsured.

BOLIVIA, N.C. – Novant Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Scott Itzkowitz and Dorothy Truax, PA, to Novant Health Gastroenterology Brunswick. Itzkowitz has been serving patients on a part-time basis and joined the clinic full-time in August. Truax joined the clinic in September. Both providers are accepting new patients.

WESLEY CHAPEL, N.C.– Novant Health has opened a medical office building in Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, bringing three new clinics to the area. Novant Health Southern Piedmont Primary Care, Novant Health Child & Adolescent Medical Group and Novant Health Carmel OB/GYN are open and seeing patients at 6488 Weddington-Monroe Road. All three clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Most Wired hospitals use technology to partner with patients on health WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Novant Health has been recognized by HealthCare’s Most Wired for the second year in a row for its adoption and strategic application of technology to achieve great outcomes. HealthCare’s Most Wired, now in its 20th year, traditionally tracked the adoption of healthcare IT in hospitals and health systems. The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) took over the Most Wired program and revised the survey questions and methodology this year to highlight strengths and gaps in the industry. The goal is to identify best practices and promote the strategic use of healthcare IT to elevate the health and care of communities around the world.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health has named Dr. Eric Eskioglu executive vice president and chief medical officer (CMO) effective Oct. 25. As CMO, Eskioglu will provide strategic clinical and cultural leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective and patient-centered care across the Novant Health system. Eskioglu is a practicing vascular neurosurgeon and previously served as senior vice president of neurosciences for Novant Health.
