Novant Health reports 2018 audited financial results

Health System provides nearly $155 million in financial assistance and more than $883 million in total community benefit WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health today announced 2018 audited financial results for the year ended Dec. 31. For 2018, Novant Health reported net income of $94.0 million on operating revenues of nearly $5 billion. The not-for-profit health system also reported $883.7 million in total community benefit (including financial assistance and unpaid cost of Medicare and Medicaid), up from $794.4 million in 2017. Novant Health provided $154.7 million in financial assistance to members of our communities in 2018.

Novant Health lifts flu-related visitor restrictions

Novant Health opens pediatric sports medicine clinic in Highland Creek

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health is pleased to announce the opening of Novant Health Pediatric Sports Medicine satellite clinic in the Highland Creek community. The clinic is located at 5370 Ridge Road and will be open on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic will be staffed by Dr. Jennifer Gaitley and Dr. Christian Turner. 

Ann Caulkins named as senior vice president of Novant Health and president of Novant Health Foundation

Funds raised from Get Your Rear in Gear – Charlotte event help Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation fund colon cancer support programs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Colon Cancer Coalition recently awarded Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center (NHPMC) Foundation a grant to fund colonoscopy screenings, patient living expenses, colon cancer rehabilitation and wellness services for low-income colorectal cancer patients. This grant is made possible through funds raised during the Get Your Rear in Gear (GYRIG) – Charlotte 5K event, held each year in March. Novant Health Grants Director Randy Brantley and Grants Manager Kerri Polce accepted a $75,000 check on behalf of NHPMC Foundation from local Get Your Rear in Gear – Charlotte event director Phillip Sanford.

Novant Health Neurology & Sleep opens satellite clinic in Cotswold

Paula Bird named vice president of behavioral health services for Novant Health

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health has named Paula Bird vice president of behavioral health services. In this role, Bird will be responsible for nursing care provided in Novant Health’s five inpatient psychiatric units, as well as integration efforts for behavioral health within all Novant Health facilities, standardizing behavioral health across the system.

Novant Health to open new medical office building in Harrisburg

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health recently announced it will open a new 24,000-square-foot medical office building in the city of Harrisburg, North Carolina, in late 2019. Located at 4101 Main St., the two-story building will offer family medicine, pediatric and ob-gyn services.  

Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation adds new board members

THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to serve on its board, which provides stewardship and oversight of its operations and activities. New members are Dr. Beatriz Juncadella, business leader Colon Starrett, local pastor Dee Stokes and Dr. Joseph Stringfellow. The new appointments will be replacing Tom Holladay, Tammy Joyce, Rick Phillips, TJ Slaughter and Jerry Smith.
