Mike and Gloria Foss honored with 2018 North Carolina Governor’s Volunteer Service Award BOLIVIA, N.C. – Two Novant Health volunteers were recently honored with the 2018 North Carolina Governor’s Volunteer Service Award. Mike and Gloria Foss have been instrumental in the implementation of Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center’s pet therapy program.

New clinic offers patients additional access to outpatient psychiatric therapy         CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health has expanded its behavioral health services with the recent opening of Novant Health Psychiatry in the Steele Creek community. The new outpatient clinic provides children, adolescents and adults with diagnosis and treatment of mental health concerns, including anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger and chronic irritability, and other mood disorders.

Wound care, senior care and infectious disease clinics are now open MATTHEWS, N.C. – Novant Health has opened three new clinics inside the Matthews Medical Office Building at 1450 Matthews Township Parkway in Matthews, North Carolina. The clinics provide services for disease management, wound care and senior care.

Vizient names Novant Health as a 2018 top performer in sourcing and resource management WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health was recently named a 2018 Top Performer by Vizient in Sourcing and Resource Management in the Supply Chain Excellence Award category. Vizient is the largest member-driven health care performance improvement company in the country. Novant Health was one of 10 Vizient member hospitals chosen for its innovative initiative that improved supply chain performance in the last 12 to 18 months.

SALISBURY, N.C. – Residents of south Rowan and the China Grove area have a new face in town for women’s health care. Sharon Kay Varner, a certified nurse-midwife, has joined the qualified team of obstetricians and gynecologists at Novant Health Carolina Women’s Health Associates that include Dr. Jessica Blumenthal, Dr. Erin Grey, Dr. James Murphy, Dr. Michael Stadler and Dr. Holly Stevens.    

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –  Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation awarded $24,650 in scholarships from six different scholarship funds to nurses in Novant Health’s greater Winston-Salem market this month to coincide with National Nurses Week. The scholarship dollar amount was a new high for the foundation and will allow local nurses to further their education.

 CHARLOTTE, N.C. – During the 9th annual Catwalk for a Cause fundraising event, 2017 NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. and his partner, Sherry Pollex announced a $1.2 million gift to Novant Health from the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation. The gift will be used to establish the Novant Health Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Children’s Emergency Department in Huntersville and the SherryStrong Integrative Medicine Oncology Clinic in Charlotte. 

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC) recently recognized Novant Health with the Outstanding Recovery Ally Award at the organization’s spring conference in Asheville, North Carolina.
