MyChart patient portal to integrate with Fitbit and Apple HealthKit Winston-Salem, NC, Aug. 19, 2015 – Beginning this month, Novant Health patients will be able to share data from their fitness tracker with their doctor through Novant Health’s electronic patient portal, MyChart.

Salisbury, N.C., August 11, 2015 - The Novant Health Foundation Rowan Medical Center has received a $250,000 grant from the Charles A. Cannon Charitable Trusts to help purchase 3-D mammogram technology for Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Winston-Salem, N.C. - August 11, 2015 - Duke University Health System and Novant Health are exploring the mutual benefits of complementary clinical services and value-based care network initiatives, prompting the two health systems to initiate discussions of a potential collaboration.

August 4, 2015 - Winston-Salem, N.C. - Novant Health has become the first health system headquartered in North Carolina to give the Social Security Administration (SSA) access to appropriate patients' health information through Epic's Care Everywhere to assist with social security claims. This access allows SSA to quickly and securely perform a patient search, review a patient's medical history, and confirm or deny a patient's physical or mental disability claim.

About 700, or 15 percent, of U.S. hospitals have applied for and received this award.

This innovative partnership will allow Novant Health to collaborate with county emergency medical services to provide post-discharge and preventive care for its patients. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast grant will fund mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women Bolivia, North Carolina, July 6, 2015 – The Novant Health Foundation Brunswick Medical Center has received a $46,150 grant from Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast to provide free mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women in Brunswick County. 

Salisbury, N.C., June 26, 2015 – Dr. and Mrs. Chris Agner were honored with the Wilson L. Smith Philanthropic Award during Novant Health Foundation Rowan Medical Center’s Annual Donor Appreciation and Recognition Dinner held June 4 at the First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury. Dedicated physician, devoted husband, loyal friend, father of five and grandfather to seven, Dr. Agner spoke with pride of his many roles. He credited his successes in large part to his wife, Dianne, who stood beside him when Rick Parker, director of Novant Health Foundation Rowan Medical Center, presented the couple with the award.
