Tiny microchip inside the heart monitors vitals remotely before heart failure symptoms strike    Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 2, 2015 — Cardiologists at Novant Health Heart and Vascular Institute began today implanting tiny, microchip sensors in patients with advanced heart failure to better monitor symptoms and reduce patients’ chances of returning to the hospital.  The implantable sensor, called CardioMEMS HF System, is the nation’s first and only Food and Drug Approved wireless heart failure monitor that has been shown to reduce hospital readmissions and improve quality of life for many heart failure patients.

Community invited to participate in events and activities planned in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Charlotte, N.C. The Novant Health Breast Center mobile unit will be on-site at the events, providing state-of-the-art digital mammography by a team of female technologists.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Neurologist Chris Morris, MD, has joined Novant Health Winston Neurology Kernersville in Kernersville, North Carolina. Dr. Morris earned a doctorate in Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, and completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
