Novant Health connects to Department of Veterans Affairs through eHealth Exchange - the federal level Health Information Exchange Winston-Salem, N.C., February 13, 2014 – Novant Health electronic health records is now connected to the Department of Veterans Affairs through the eHealth Exchange, the federal level Health Information Exchange. The connection allows clinicians to share patient information across both systems without paper or faxing, improving the coordination of care for veterans who receive care in multiple locations.

One of only seven facilities to be designated in North Carolina, Presbyterian Medical Center is the first hospital in the Charlotte area to receive this recognition.

Novant Health Lifts Flu-related Visitor Restrictions

As flu cases decline, visitors of all ages can return to local hospitals. Winston-Salem, N.C., February 4, 2015 – Beginning 8 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, all Novant Health facilities have lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place on January 2. During the height of this flu season, Novant Health asked the community to keep visitors younger than 18 years old out of all its hospital facilities. As a result of the declining number of flu cases seen over the past few weeks, these restrictions have been lifted. The decision has been made in collaboration with other large health systems.

Four Novant Health Facilities Achieve HIMSS Stage 6

Novant Health CEO joins American Hospital Association’s Health Care Systems Governing Council

Winston-Salem, NC – On January 1, 2015, Novant Health President and CEO Carl Armato will join the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Care Systems Governing Council. The Governing Council provides valuable input on policy issues and advises the AHA on advocacy positions, emerging issues and member service strategies. The council is comprised of 20 leaders representing health care systems across the U.S. Armato will serve on the council for three years.
