National recognition for achievements in the biomedical industry
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Adept Health’s clinical engineering department at University Health in Augusta, Georgia, has been chosen as the recipient of the TechNation Department of the Year award. Adept Health’s clinical engineering management program offers medical centers, surgery centers and imaging centers a partner that can maintain and repair all medical equipment.
TechNation’s award recognizes top achievers in the biomedical industry who set the bar and provide an outstanding example for others in the industry. The awards will be presented at the 2017 MD Expo in Orlando, Florida.
“University Health and Novant Health have partnered in clinical engineering through Adept Health – a partnership that allows us to find savings through contract reduction,” said Ben Lewis, director of the clinical engineering management program for Novant Health in Georgia and Florida. “Because of the partnership with Adept Health, we have been able to keep our clinical engineering services in-house at University Health and train existing members of the team. These team members are able to tackle a wide array of repairs and keep the equipment functioning properly.”
“The Adept Health Clinical Engineering team is a class act,” said Dave Belkoski, chief financial officer for University Health. “Their support from a regulatory and compliance perspective, as well as their ability to immediately resolve issues they discovered, has been an invaluable resource to our system. Additionally, they have been able to provide improved service at a lower cost and we are excited to expand our relationship with their team as we add another hospital to our system.”
In 2011, Novant Health Shared Services was created as a wholly owned subsidiary of Novant Health. In 2016, Novant Health Shared Services rebranded as Adept Health. Adept Health remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Novant Health, while continuing to develop services available to its partners across the country.
“We are proud of the partnership we’ve built with University Health,” said David Wilson, senior director of corporate clinical engineering, Adept Health. “The goal of Adept Health is to bring expertise to a variety of departments in the health care field. The clinical engineering department at University Health provides great service to the patients in Augusta by maintaining and repairing 10,000 pieces of medical equipment.”
