Charlotte, NC., December 10, 2014 - Wells Fargo Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement Division and Cheeriodicals brought cheer in the form of 110 big green boxes to children fighting childhood cancer and other diseases at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Cheeriodicals are “big green boxes of cheer” made up of age-appropriate magazines, toys, puzzles, crafts and goodies for children to enjoy.
“We are so excited to have Cheeriodicals and Wells Fargo visit Hemby Children’s Hospital today,” said Elizabeth Gray, Child Life Coordinator, at Hemby Children’s Hospital. “We sincerely appreciate Wells Fargo sponsoring this day of smiles as we prepare for the Holiday Season. All of our patients were thrilled to receive such special and fun gifts.”
“We’re thrilled to work with Wells Fargo for the second time this year to deliver Cheeriodicals to Hemby Children’s Hospital,” said Gary Parisher, President of Cheeriodicals. “Nothing we do is as important as delivering smiles to the children and their families in children’s hospitals”.
Cheeriodicals and a team from Wells Fargo Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement Division began delivering its bright green boxes at 11:00 a.m. on a room by room basis. The boxes were tailored to boys or girls and specific age groups and are sure to bring joy to the children and even contained a few surprises for the parents.
Contributing to this day of smiles, Two Men and a Truck Charlotte, specializing in residential and commercial moves, donated their time and services to transport the 110 Cheeriodicals to Hemby Children’s Hospital. The Hilton City Center also joined this community effort by donating meeting room space to host the team building activity where more than 20 Wells Fargo Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement Division employees assembled the Cheeriodicals themselves.
Cheeriodicals Day is catching on across the country. Cheeriodicals has worked with Cincinnati Children’s, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Nationwide Children’s, Lurie Children’s and many others and on their Cheeriodicals Days and has plans to continue working with corporate sponsors to bring cheer to children’s hospitals throughout the country.
