Winston-Salem, N.C., Oct. 11, 2016 – Seven remarkable Novant Health nurses have been named to the prestigious Great 100 list of nurses in North Carolina. The nurses were nominated by their peers on the basis of their outstanding professionalism, their demonstration of excellence and their commitment to making a difference in their communities through nursing.

The seven nurses who were named to the list come from three different Novant Health facilities.

Named to the list were:

  • Bonnie Broadwell, RN, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center.
  • Dale Callicutt, RN, Novant Health clinical education.
  • Sonya Nicole (Nikki) Como, RN, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center.
  • Karen Cumbo, RN, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
  • Sara Egnatz, RN, Novant Health central staffing and scheduling office, greater Winston-Salem market.
  • Stephanie Herron, RN, Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center.
  • Amy Prado, RN, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

The Great 100 Inc., founded in 1988 and based in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a grassroots peer recognition organization that seeks to honor the nursing profession. Every year, the program honors 100 registered nurses across North Carolina who demonstrate excellence in practice and commitment to their profession. Great 100 also raises funds to provide scholarships for individuals who want to pursue nursing as a career.

Each of these nurses presents a positive, professional image of nursing and exemplifies what it means to provide exceptional patient care. These nurses will be honored Saturday, Oct. 15, during the 2016 Great 100 gala at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
