Novant Health adds Dr. Christopher "Jay" Duggins to board of trustees

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health, a not-for-profit health care system serving the Carolinas and Georgia, has added Dr. Christopher "Jay" Duggins to its board of trustees. A practicing anesthesiologist with Providence Anesthesiology Associates in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he is also past chair, Duggins has been involved with Novant Health in various capacities for more than 18 years.

Dr. Duggins served as chair of the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Surgical and Invasive Procedures Peer Review Committee from 2014 to 2022 and as a member of that committee since 2004. He is currently a member of the Novant Health Greater Charlotte Market Credentials Committee as well as a current member of the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Continuing Medical Education Committee, of which he has been a member since 2007.

Duggins graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Memphis State University. He later received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Duggins completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where he later served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as a staff anesthesiologist and quality assurance officer.
