On Saturday, Aug. 17, from 8 a.m. to noon, Novant Health will sponsor the Bobcats Wellness Clinic at Time Warner Cable Arena. The health fair is free and open to the public and will feature a variety of health screenings, wellness activities, entertainment and giveaways. The first 500 guests will receive a voucher for two lower-level tickets to a Bobcats 2013-14 regular season home game. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. the Bobcats will host an autograph session with a member of the team.
The Bobcats and Novant Health share a commitment to invest in the health of the greater Charlotte community by providing screenings, wellness programs and tools to create an active lifestyle. Free screenings available at the Bobcats Wellness Clinic include BMI, sleep, blood pressure and cholesterol and blood glucose. Mammograms will be available with proof of insurance. Mammograms are covered as a preventive screening under most insurance plans and a claim will be filed with the attendee’s insurance provider on their behalf.
Other wellness activities include massage therapy, prostate health and cancer consults, hand hygiene, stretching and healthy shopping demonstrations and nutrition. Attendees can also find a care provider with Novant Health’s Physician Finder and learn how to manage their health easily online with MyChart, an online tool that connects patients to their personal health information at their convenience.
A complimentary fruit and juice bar will be provided along with raffle prizes totaling $4,000, basketball shooting games, a photo booth and interactive social media station. Raffle prizes include $500 gift cards provided by Whole Foods, Zen Massage, Belk and Visa.
