Bolivia, NC, May 5, 2014 –The Novant Health Foundation Brunswick Medical Center board of directors has announced its third annual hospital ball, named the Flip Flop Ball, will be held Saturday, May 31, at 7 p.m. at Brick Landing Plantation.
Kick back at this year’s Flip Flop Ball while also supporting quality local healthcare with a beach-style benefit. This year, the event will feature beach music by the Sea-Cruz band and Sea Pans steel drum ensemble. Cocktails, island cuisine and dancing will all be included to ensure a fun night at The Flip Flop Ball. Cindy Cheatham and Jonathan Tait are this year’s event co-chairs.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Novant Health Foundation Brunswick Medical Center, which was formed in 2011 to help carry out the hospital’s not-for-profit mission of improving the health of our community, one person at a time.
Since inception, the Foundation’s donors have funded an extensive women’s and children’s wellness outreach program to help target childhood obesity in our community, decrease smoking during pregnancy and encourage breastfeeding. In addition, the Foundation, in coordination with the hospital’s volunteers, opened a Healing & Respite Courtyard on the campus of Brunswick Medical Center in 2013.
