Novant Health names Angela Yochem as chief digital officer

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health has named Angela Yochem as chief digital officer. In this new role, Yochem will develop the strategic vision for how Novant Health can engage with patients through technology and improve their healthcare experience. Additionally, she will lead the implementation of digital media solutions across the system including design, development, operations and support.

Previously, Yochem served as the chief information officer and executive vice president of digital channels at Rent-A-Center in Plano, Texas. In this role, she restructured the technology division and defined new digital channels for the company.

Before Rent-A-Center, Yochem served as the global chief information officer at BDP International, one of the largest privately held, non-asset-based logistics companies in the world. She also served as AstraZeneca’s first global chief technology officer in Wilmington, Delaware.

Yochem received her bachelor’s degree in music from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana and her master’s degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She currently holds several advisory positions, serving as the independent director for Rocana, an advanced analytics software firm recently acquired by Splunk; an entrepreneur-in-residence with Vonzos Partners, a Colorado-based investment firm; as well as a mentor for SK Telecom Americas Innopartners, the business development and venture capital arm of SK Telecom. Yochem has served on several boards, including the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, the Youth Works Foundation of the Union League of Philadelphia and the University of Tennessee’s electrical engineering and computer science department.

Yochem is a published author and a U.S. patent holder.

Yochem will start in January 2018 and will report to Carl Armato, president and CEO of Novant Health.
