Winston-Salem, N.C., Dec. 6, 2016 – This week, Novant Health announced that Kim Henderson has been named the chief of staff to the president and CEO of Novant Health. In this new, expanded role she will assist Novant Health President and CEO Carl S. Armato with strategy discussions with external and internal stakeholders, influence business execution and keep the executive office informed on key initiatives and projects. She will also lead special CEO-initiated projects and navigate issues that could impact their successful execution.

“I am pleased to announce that Kim Henderson will serve as the chief of staff at Novant Health. Our organization will be stronger and positioned for even greater success thanks to her leadership and ability to implement and execute large-scale initiatives,” Armato said. “As Novant Health continues to grow, so does our commitment to improve the health of the communities we serve.”

Henderson will continue to serve as the president of the Novant Health Foundation and senior vice president of social responsibility, roles in which she oversees six independent foundations and Novant Health social responsibility activities to better serve communities.

Previously, Henderson was the vice president of corporate social responsibility and executive director of the Charlotte Hornets Foundation, where she oversaw the social responsibility, community partnerships and philanthropic efforts for Hornets Sports & Entertainment. Before her tenure with Hornets Sports & Entertainment, Henderson served for many years in a wide range of roles with Novant Health, leading patient relations, guest services, and volunteer services and implementing community engagement strategies that aligned with Novant Health’s organizational goals.

Henderson serves on the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women executive committee as 2017 chairperson, on the Johnson C. Smith University board of visitors and on the Fletcher School board of trustees. She is co-chair of the board of advisors for Charlotte Bridge Home and is a member of Women Executives. Kim has served on the boards of directors for the Arts and Science Council, United Way of the Central Carolinas, Discovery Place board of trustees, Autism Speaks and WTVI, as well as local committees, including Junior League and Playground Build.
