Nine Novant Health hospitals were honored for improving patient care quality and safety in the areas of MRSA reduction, reducing preventable heart failure readmissions and falls with injury reductions. Four system hospitals each won two awards.

Four facilities achieved a 50 percent or greater reduction in MRSA rate in calendar year 2012 compared to calendar year 2011.

Six facilities demonstrated a 20 percent or greater reduction in 30-day all-cause heart failure readmission rate or number of 30-day all-cause heart failure readmissions in July-December 2012 compared to the baseline period of October 2010-March 2011.
